Challenge

Brooks Sports, a leading manufacturer of high quality/high tech running shoes and apparel, sought to show the benefits of its DNA mid-sole technology. Since it is embedded in their shoes' insoles, demonstrating it to a customer was a challenge. So they turned to Concept Designs for a solution. We designed a wall-mountable frame that holds an actual DNA demo insert. An acrylic tab holds the demo sample securely, while a large opening in the tab allows the customer to feel the insert. The frame also holds an interchangeable graphic card that communicates feature/benefit information.

Brooks and their retailers welcomed this new addition to their display catalog. The display can mount to slat wall, grid wall, or Brooks' floorstanding displays. It serves as a silent salesperson, communicating the features and benefits of the unique DNA technology, while taking up very little valuable retail space.





Challenge

As Brooks Sports continues its rapid climb to be the brand of choice for both serious and casual runners, they sought a simple way to glorify 1 to 3 shoe models on a table top or slat wall. Concept Designs conceived wire, acrylic and wood platforms that hold the shoes at an appealing angle. The wire upright and "halo" make the shoe appear to float. Two different heights provide visibility and separation. The mix of materials is both elegant and functional. The Brooks logo is prominently displayed on both sides of each base. An optional slat wall bracket allows the Glorifiers to be mounted to a retailer's shoe wall. The Glorifiers are packed in sets that include 2 short, 1 tall, and 3 slat wall adaptors.

Retailers welcomed the Glorifiers as they clearly identify and promote Brooks as a premium brand. They also appreciate the flexibility of being able to use the Glorifiers on a table top, counter top, or slat wall.

Brooks Sports, a leading manufacturer of high quality/high tech running shoes and apparel, is always looking for ways to reinforce its retail presence with flexible display elements. They have several logo sign options available to retailers, including large and small wall signs and countertop signs. They looked to add to this selection with a Light Box that could hang from the ceiling, be mounted flush to slat or grid wall, or extend out perpendicular from the wall. Additionally the Light Box had to accommodate easily interchanged and updatable graphic panels.

The Light Box Kit includes 3 graphic panels (Brooks logo, and 2 "NightLife" graphics). It includes slat/grid wall brackets for wall mounting. It also includes a branded, adjustable faceout rod from which the Light Box can suspend. And of course, it includes 2 lengths of stainless steel chain to hang from the ceiling. Retailers responded enthusiastically to this addition to the Brooks display family and the Light Box has received several re-orders.

Brooks is rapidly becoming the go-to brand of running shoes for both the serious and casual runner. As part of their in-store marketing strategy, they provide a comprehensive range of displays, fixtures, and signage. They sought to augment their strong position by offering retailers a useful, practical, and ubiquitous tool that all stores would welcome – a Fitting Stool.

Using a combination of off-the-shelf components, supplemented by strongly branded details and useful add-ons, we have provided Brooks with one of their most successful retail fixtures. These stools continue to be placed world-wide.

Challenge

Brooks Sports, a leading manufacturer of high quality/high tech running shoes and apparel, was seeking to expand its retail presence, unifying their brand presence within the specialty running market. There were numerous objectives to consider, including: Create a multi-function, easily expandable, reconfigurable system that could accommodate a widely diverse number of products or mixes of product. Provide a freestanding "Product Core" or central display unit, "Power Wings" which could function alone or in conjunction with the "Product Cores", and a wall system that could utilize mixtures of the elements developed for the freestanding units. Create an easy to set up, and reconfigure system that could adapt as the product line evolves and grows.

An initial order of Product Cores and Power Wings rolled out internationally and in the US. The Brooks sales staff is thrilled with the display's versatility, dramatic presence, ease of setup, and strong branding. A major Southern California retailer wrote: "The new Brooks apparel fixtures are really working out well. I think in terms of visual presentation and functionality they were exactly what we needed."

Brooks Sports, a leading manufacturer of high quality/high tech running shoes and apparel, sought to elevate the image of its line of walking shoes. The challenge was to design a high quality, durable single shoe riser that could be placed in walk shops as well as traditional running stores. The platform had to function on a countertop, in a store window, or on slat wall. The display needed to combine high perceived value materials with Brooks' signature oval logo form to reach walking shoe customers as well as their more familiar running shoe customer.

The display met all of the objectives. It functions equally well in any part of a store. Its mix of materials sends a strong quality message about the brand and the product displayed. Measurement of the display's success is on-going. Initial retailer feedback most often references its compact size, its versatility, and its quality image.
