Platypus Hook Array

Cascade Designs family of brands includes Platypus, MSR, PackTowl, and SealLine. We designed a Hook Array that is easily adapted to the different brands and functions with a variety of products and packaging. A powdercoated steel horizontal bracket is slotted to allow standard slat wall hooks to be mounted and positioned to accommodate packages of varying widths. A logo plate is welded above the bracket and extends out over the products. The brand logo is screened on the back of the plate. Channels at the top and bottom accept interchangeable graphic or logo cards.

Challenge

Cascade Designs sought to reinvigorate its Platypus brand by creating a high quality freestanding display. It needed to dispense a wide range of Platypus hydration products as well as highlight and emphasize the Platypus brand. The design needed to key off graphic and color combinations from the Platypus product packaging, resulting in a cohesive, consistent merchandising platform. The display needed to function either 2 or 4-sided and accommodate standard slat wall pegs. It also had to allow for interchangeable graphic elements. The unit had to include casters, and knock-down for easy shipping and assembly.

Platypus Tower

The marketing group at Cascade Designs was very excited about finally being able to offer their retailers top-notch POP for the Platypus line. When the prototype was shown first shown at Outdoor Retailer, their European distributors wanted the display as well, which increased the order quantity by over 25%. It has allowed Cascade Designs to broaden distribution of the Platypus line into new channels and has strengthened relations with existing retailers. Demand has been high for the Platypus Floor Display. They praise its clean design, durable construction, ease of assembly, and merchandising flexibility.
